Topics
Preparing Constructive Feedback
What you'll learn
Learners explore how to separate observable facts from assumptions, structure a message using the Situation-Behaviour-Impact (SBI) model, and ask about the other person’s intention and perspective. The course also covers specific recognition, practical follow-up agreements and preparation for annual evaluations.
Short video segments and a PDF presentation introduce the core concepts. Case studies address missing protocols, unprepared grant reviews and interruptions during lab meetings, with optional exercises on last-minute application edits and delayed recruitment briefs. Learners draft their own responses before consulting suggested examples and finish by preparing an opening for a conversation from their own workplace.
Designed for research managers, team leaders and others who lead or support colleagues, the course connects clear feedback with respectful dialogue and practical action.
