Psychological Safety at Work I: Signals of Safety and Risk
What you'll learn
Through a recorded webinar, a presentation, a practical video scenario and short answers to common leadership questions, you will examine how leaders respond to mistakes, challenging feedback and differing opinions. You will explore ways to invite quieter voices into discussions, encourage questions and address problematic behaviour while maintaining accountability and professional relationships.
The course introduces the Observation → Curiosity → Impact → Next Steps framework for structuring difficult conversations. A one-week Leadership Challenge provides four practical exercises and an optional bonus activity to help you try small changes in your everyday interactions and reflect on what happens.
Designed for research managers, research group leaders, team leaders and research support professionals, the course offers practical ideas for supporting more open communication and collaborative working.
