Negotiation Skills Workshop for Scientists

Negotiation is an important part of a researcher’s professional life, whether discussing project responsibilities, authorship, resources, collaboration conditions or career opportunities. This practical workshop will help postdoctoral researchers prepare for negotiations, communicate their interests clearly and work towards constructive, mutually beneficial outcomes.

What participants will learn:

Participants will learn how to prepare for and structure a negotiation, identify their own and others’ underlying interests, find common ground and select an appropriate negotiation strategy. They will also practise asking effective questions, active listening, persuasion and influence techniques, and constructive conflict management.
